TOKYO: Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sunday arrived in Beijing, where he is expected to hold his first summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping after presiding over two years of animosity between Asia's biggest economies.


"I want to improve Japan-China relations," Abe told reporters at Tokyo's Haneda airport before flying to the Chinese capital. The meeting with Xi would take place on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) gathering in Beijing Nike Vapormax Flyknit Triple Black , which culminates in a two-day summit of leaders from 21 member-economies starting on Monday.


Abe heads to Beijing for APEC after Japan and China reached an accord on Friday to tone down tensions over territorial and historical disputes that had fuelled concerns of outright conflict.

Ahead of Abe's departure, the Japanese and Chinese foreign ministers held their first formal talks in more than two years on Saturday on the sidelines of APEC. The talks between Wang Yi and Fumio Kishida were the first at such a level since September 2012.


In the accord between the two announced on Friday, each used only their own name for the islands but said they would set up a "crisis management mechanism" to keep the situation under control. The agreement was widely seen as setting the stage for a summit between Xi and Abe Nike Vapormax Triple Black , though no official announcement has yet been made.


WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- The combined physiotherapy and occupational therapy that are thought to be helpful in improving quality of life for patients with mild to moderate Parkinson's disease may not be as effective as the original thought.


A British study published Tuesday in the U.S. journal JAMA Neurology claimed that these therapies do not have a positive impact on activities of daily living, such as putting on clothes or brushing teeth Nike Vapormax Flyknit White , in the immediate to medium term, for patients with mild or moderate Parkinson's disease.


The University of Birmingham team behind the research said that it displays a need for the reallocation of resource towards more effective treatments for patients.


Parkinson's disease is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system, affecting approximately 7 million people across the globe and four percent of those aged over 80.


The disease causes problems with activities of daily living that are only partially treated by medication and occasionally surgery. Current national guidelines said that patients should have access to physiotherapy and occupational therapy later in the disease.


In the new study Nike Vapormax White , 762 patients with mild to moderate Parkinson's disease were recruited from 37 British centers, making it the largest clinical trial of rehabilitation in Parkinson's disease, and follow ups were measured for 15 months.


Half of the patients were randomized to standard practice physiotherapy and occupational therapy and the other half received no therapy.

The researchers concluded that it is possible that mild to moderate disease may not respond to therapies, whereas more severe disease may respond, "although this remains to be established."
